Volunteering, Sharing Supplies, and Work Exchange
This event is organized by
community members, musicians, and culture bearers
for the community.
There are so many ways to ... Get Involved!
- Registered participants are welcome to volunteer to support the event.
- Work Exchange Volunteers can receive event registration in exchange for working a Volunteer Shift. Four hour shift = free tent camping and event registration for the full weekend event.
Volunteer / Work Exchange Registration:
- To register as a volunteer please:
1) check for openings and schedule your shift on Sign-up Genius
2) fill out the volunteer form to register as a volunteer.
More info about volunteering on our "Get Involved" page and at the online orientation. - There are a limited number of volunteer slots on Sign-Up Genius. Volunteer slots will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Please register for slots that are completely open first, so that we have coverage throughout the event. Please register as soon as possible to make sure you get a slot, and to help our team make sure that we have enough volunteers for the event. There may be an online volunteer meeting the week of January 13-17, to provide you with information and orient you to the event. Please watch your emails for updates from LouisianaCulturesCamp@gmail
- When you register as a participant on Eventbrite or register as a volunteer (by scheduling your work exchange shift, you are registering to participate in the event). When you arrive at Group Camp 1 for the event, sign-in at the Welcome table to get your wristband.
- All registration is in advance through the volunteer forms or through Eventbrite. All volunteers must Register and confirm registration in advance.
- In addition to registration, Fontainebleau State Park has fees for Day Pass participants. The Park Admission/Entrance Fees for day pass participants are $3 per person. Free for seniors (62 & older). Free for children (3 & under). Participants who are registered with a weekend pass will not need to pay Fontainebleau State Park entrance fees.
- Volunteer Krewes:
- 1) Set-up Krewe
- 2) Hospitality Krewe, 2 people per shift: Welcome, Parking, Registration, Information, First Aid Kit, Camp Store, Bathrooms, Kitchen, Trash, Recycling, Compost, etc.
- 3) Main Hall Hospitality
- 4) Take Down Krewe
