Bianca "B" San Martín is a New Orleanian of Puerto Rican and Honduran ancestry. She is the founder of Nola Fleaux, Ritmeaux Krewe, and Bayou Bomba.  You can find her on the dancefloor, teaching dance,  and DJ'ing both for Latin Dance nights and on air on WHIV 102.3.

Bianca assists Louisiana Cultures Camp with Community Outreach and Partnership Outreach ​.

Eric Schmidt:

A native of St Bernard Parish, Eric is an active member of the local community. His interests include cycling, acting, yoga, and conservation education. He is an active volunteer with New Orleans Blue Society, St. Bernard Bike,  Docville Farm,  the Cigar Box Festival, and founder of Leadership St. Bernard. 

Eric is a full-stack developer and was the local lead for DrupalCon New Orleans. Since, 2010 he has been a co-­organizer of the Louisiana Drupal Users Group and an organizer and speaker for two New Orleans DrupalCamps. Eric has been an owner and partner in evanSchmidt design since 1996. Notable projects include Cafe Du Monde, Latter & Blum Commercial, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Tabasco, Bent Media, Tom Varisco Design, Besh Restaurant Group, Smoothie King and New Orleans Wine and Food Experience.

Eric assists Louisiana Cultures Camp Projects with Community Outreach, Partnership Outreach, and our Website.

Eva Hurst Co-Founded Que Pasa fest, an event that celebrates Latin/ Hispanic Cultural Heritage in 2011 along with Javier Olondo, Brenda Melara, and Johnny Marcia. She is an advocate for persons with disabilities, elders, and the Hispanic Community. She currently is an administrator for the American with Disabilities Act program with the City of New Orleans.

Frank Aseron is of Panamanian, Filipino, and Chinese heritage.

His an active volunteer with First Grace Church, Hagar's House, Krewe De Mayhuel, APA, and other community organizations. During his career, Frank worked in finance helping people access housing. 

Frank's 80th birthday was a mini- Louisiana Cultures Camp party with performances with culture bearers such as Congo Square Preservation Society, T Marie and Bayou Juju, and Margie Perez. His friends sang him  Happy Birthday in numerous different languages throughout the evening.

Jessica Melindez Bayuga is the  President at Philippine American Women’s Association of Louisiana PAWAL/Bayou Barkada. 

Jessica assists Louisiana Cultures Camp with the  Planning Team, Cultural Outreach, Artist Liaison, Community Outreach, and Partnership Outreach. ​

Julianna Padgett is a native New Orleans who is active in community-based iniatives to support neighborhoods, participatory conflict resolution methods, criminal justice reform, and equity. 
  • Julianna Padgett has served in faculty and administrative roles in social work programs, most recently as Director of the MSW Program at Southern University New Orleans. She has skills in facilitation, training, writing/editing, program/organizational policy development and program management.  
Julianna's roles at Louisiana Cultures Camp include: Planning Team, Event Volunteer Coordination, Grant Applications.

Margie Perez is a talented singer, songwriter, and bandleader whose innate kindness and love for music inflects every performance. Perez offers a versatile blend of Latin, blues, and contemporary pop tunes in her repertoire, all shaded with New Orleans rhythmic energy. Perez performs as a solo artist and co-leads the hot Latin Big Band Muevelo, and heads up the smaller Latin ensemble Margie Perez and Her Grupo Latino. Audiences love her groups’ energies, as well as singing along to her hits like “Ooh Baby La La.”
Perez also lends her captivating vocals to the Afro-Cuban sacred music band Michael Skinkus & Moyuba, Kumasi Afrobeat Orchestra, N.O.B.A.B.E. (the powerhouse collective of female musicians), and The M&M's, a supergroup featuring members of Galactic, Papa Mali, and John Medeski. Margie Perez has collaborated with numerous talented musicians in New Orleans, including serving as a backup singer for The Meters guitar legend, Leo Nocentelli and the occasional one-off special event, such as singing with Harry Connick Jr. on his 2020 CBS special, “United We Sing.” Perez is also involved in bettering her community through her work with local non-profits. She has won a slew of awards, been featured on Gwen Thompkin’s national radio show, “Music Inside Out,” and was the recipient of the Positive Vibrations Foundation’s Heartbeat Musicians Award.

​Born in Lafayette, Louisiana, fiddle player and vocalist Marie-Isabelle is a second generation culture bearer. When an injury prevented her from dancing to the music she grew up with, Marie-Isabelle started performing on stage.  In addition to performing traditionals from South Louisiana, she also writes original songs and poetry in Louisiana French and English, teaches traditional dance workshops, facilitates Restorative Justice trainings and processes, is involved in native plant restoration and traditional gardening, and hosts healing circles and Cajun jams at her urban homestead.  Marie-Isabelle hopes that everyone who hears her music is transported to the feel of a community dancing in step - with floorboards creaking under the feet of our ancestors, elders, and the next generation.

Scierra LeGarde (she/her) grew up in Bulbancha where she still lives, and is a graduate of both Ursuline Academy and the University of New Orleans, where she earned a degree in history. Scierra is a member of the Bayou Lacombe Band of Choctaw. She is a Louisiana Creole of Choctaw and Lipan Apache ancestry.  Scierra is well known for her cultural activism and Indigenous dancing. She is involved in language reclamation as well as restoration of traditional practices such as basket making.
